With the Pento laser (1064 nm wavelength), we can treat nail fungus with maximum efficiency. The laser penetrates directly under the nail plate and reaches the site of the fungus infection without damaging the surrounding tissue. This contributes to a quick recovery.
Usually, 4-6 procedures are required to completely eliminate nail fungus. However, the number of procedures may vary depending on the degree of fungal infection and the condition of the nail plate.
For optimal results, we recommend taking a 2-4 week break between treatments. This gives your nails time to grow and heal, and helps to further reduce the impact of the fungus with each subsequent treatment.
To avoid the spread of the fungus to other nails, it is necessary to treat all the nails on your hands or feet, even if it seems that only one or two nails are affected. The fungus can be present on the nails without any visible symptoms, and untreated nails can cause re-infection.
Follow these tips to avoid recurrence and speed up healing:
1. Hygiene
Disinfect your shoes regularly with an antifungal spray.
Wear clean socks every day, preferably made of cotton or other lightweight material.
Do not go barefoot in public places such as baths, gyms, and locker rooms.
2. Nail care
Trim and file your nails regularly to prevent the fungus from re-forming and spreading.
Use a nail oil or cream that stimulates nail growth.
3. Avoid moisture
Keep your feet dry and wear shoes that do not trap moisture.
Do not wear the same shoes for several days in a row to reduce the risk of re-infection.
After the treatment, the nails will gradually start growing back healthy. It can take up to 6-12 months for the nail to fully recover, depending on the rate of nail growth.
